With Nova Forge, AWS gives companies a path to build foundation-class models without GPUs

AWS is enhancing its AI offerings with the introduction of the Nova 2 family of models and a new service called Nova Forge. This move caters to the growing industry demand for custom, personalized AI models infused with proprietary enterprise data. The Nova 2 family includes Nova 2 Lite for everyday tasks, Nova 2 Pro for complex problem-solving, Nova 2 Sonic for speech-to-speech interactions, and Nova 2 Omni for multimodal content generation. Nova Forge allows businesses to create "Novellas," custom versions of Nova models, by integrating their unique data during the training process without compromising foundational capabilities. This "open training" approach ensures models retain their core functionalities while acquiring domain-specific knowledge. Enterprises can leverage Nova Forge to develop optimized AI solutions accessible through the Amazon Bedrock platform. This service addresses the cost and complexity barriers often associated with building custom models from scratch. Reddit has already utilized Nova Forge to build a community moderation program by integrating its data. The Nova 2 Lite model has demonstrated competitive performance against other leading models like Claude, GPT, and Gemini. Nova 2 Pro is designed for advanced applications requiring deep analysis and agentic capabilities, while Nova 2 Omni stands out for its comprehensive multimodal processing.
