Withings' U-Scan, an at-home urinalysis device, is now available after three years of development. The device sits in the toilet bowl and analyzes a urine sample using microfluidics. It tests either nutritional or kidney health, depending on the cartridge used. Results are sent to the Withings app for tracking urine quality over time. Two cartridges are available: Nutrio, which analyzes nutritional response, and Calci, which monitors kidney stone risk. The U-Scan system costs $379.95, including a cartridge, and Withings+ access. Subscription plans, "Proactive" and "Intensive," offer varying analysis frequency, costing $99.95 or $179.95 quarterly. The Intensive plan includes two cartridges for the initial purchase and more frequent analysis. Withings+ includes a free coaching session with a registered dietician. The U-Scan can help people taking GLP-1 medication for weight loss monitor nutritional changes.
