You can no longer sign up for Hulu or Disney+ in Apple's App Store

New subscribers to Disney+ and Hulu will no longer be able to sign up through Apple's App Store due to Apple's 30 percent cut on purchases made through iOS apps. Instead, they are encouraged to visit the browser sites of Disney+ and Hulu to sign up directly. Existing customers can still manage their subscriptions through Apple, but they will need to subscribe directly through the platforms if they no longer want to be billed by Apple. To do this, they would have to cancel their subscription and sign up again. Hulu has also limited Apple-billed subscribers to two options: Hulu with or without ads, while live TV and add-ons must be purchased through its website. This move comes alongside price increases for Disney+ and Hulu, which were announced in August. The ad-supported Disney+ Basic and Hulu plans will now cost $10 monthly, up from $8, while the ad-free Disney+ Premium plan will cost $16 monthly, up from $14. Ad-free Hulu will now cost $20 a month, up from $18. Apple is unlikely to be pleased with Disney's decision, as the 30 percent cut has led to lawsuits from companies like Epic and Spotify. This decision is part of a larger dispute between Apple and developers over the company's app store policies.
