YouTube rolls out its redesigned video player globally

YouTube is launching platform-wide updates this week, encompassing visual and functionality enhancements for users worldwide. The core of the changes lies in a redesigned video player, featuring a cleaner interface that reduces obstruction of the video content. This updated player will be available across mobile, web, and TV platforms, offering a consistent experience. The skip functionality has undergone a more modern, less intrusive redesign. Mobile users will also experience improved transitions between different tabs.Comments will be updated with a new, threaded reply system, enhancing the readability of conversations. Adding videos to playlists and the Watch Later queue has been simplified for a "smoother and more visual" process. Additionally, YouTube introduced small animations upon hitting the like button on some content. Examples include music videos and sports content where these animations will first appear. These improvements aim to enhance the overall user experience on the platform. The changes are being rolled out globally to all YouTube users.
