All Hell Broke Out In Boston As Police Cruiser Torched In 'Premeditated' Attack On Cops: Union Chief
A violent mob of over 100 people attacked police officers in Boston, torching a cruiser and throwing objects. Larry Calderone, the president of the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association, described the event as a planned assault on law enforcement. The incident began after police responded to reports of illegal street racing in the early hours of October 5th. The mob moved through four communities, becoming more aggressive before converging in the South End. Witnesses described the scene as riot-like, with one cruiser set on fire during the chaos. Two individuals, Julian Bowers and William Cantwell, were arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer and malicious destruction of property. Despite the severity of the charges, their bail was set at a relatively low amount, drawing criticism. Calderone called the incident unprecedented and unacceptable, emphasizing that such violence against officers would not be tolerated. Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden condemned the attacks and vowed to hold those responsible accountable for jeopardizing public safety.
