Announcing Wiz Runtime Sensor add-on for GKE: Turnkey threat detection for Kubernetes
The age of AI accelerates security threats, making traditional scans insufficient for active attacks. Wiz is introducing a Runtime Sensor add-on for Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) in preview. This integration offers low-touch deployment and automated management for Wiz's eBPF runtime threat detection. It addresses common deployment challenges like complex installations and credential security risks. The Wiz Runtime Sensor for GKE is now a first-party, managed add-on simplifying sensor lifecycle management. It seamlessly integrates with GKE's Secret Manager for secure credential handling. Platform operators can enable the sensor using gcloud CLI or the GKE API for simplified deployment. Fleet-wide governance is enforced through organization policy constraints, preventing clusters without the sensor. The sensor provides kernel-level observability with minimal overhead, monitoring system calls and network activity. It also auto-updates independently, ensuring continuous protection against emerging threats. This integration with the Wiz AI Application Protection Platform offers real-time risk assessment and threat detection.
