Apple Launches HomeView, Its First Smart Display For the Home

Apple has launched the HomeView, a new 7-inch smart display priced at $299. This device integrates Siri AI, FaceTime capabilities, and customizable widgets for a personalized user experience. It serves as a central hub for Apple Home controls, facilitating management of smart home devices. The HomeView also functions as a Matter controller and a Thread Border Router, enhancing smart home connectivity. It supports up to six distinct facial-recognition profiles for personalized interactions. When paired with a compatible iPhone, it can leverage personal data from messages, calendars, and emails. Its square design is intended to be less obtrusive than other large smart displays. The HomeView represents a significant expansion of Apple's presence in the smart home market. It will be available initially in eight countries, with pre-orders now open. Shipping for the HomeView is scheduled to begin on November 13th.
