Ari Lamstein: Upcoming O’Reilly Workshop: Building Data Apps with Streamlit and Copilot (July 2026)

A 4-hour live workshop titled "Building Data Apps with Streamlit and Copilot" hosted by O'Reilly will take place on July 9th from 9am to 1pm Pacific Time. This is an improved iteration of a previous workshop designed for Python users seeking to transform analyses into interactive tools. Participants will begin with a Jupyter notebook and construct a complete Streamlit application. The app will enable users to explore datasets using interactive controls, charts, and maps. Copilot will be utilized to accelerate development and facilitate the discovery of Streamlit features. Key topics covered include structuring Streamlit apps, managing user input, creating interactive graphics with Plotly, organizing the user interface, and deploying apps to Streamlit Cloud. The workshop is hands-on, with participants building a functional project step-by-step. The example app allows users to select a state and demographic statistic, visualize its changes over time, and view data as charts, maps, or tables. The skills learned are transferable to various Streamlit projects. This workshop is ideal for data scientists, analysts, and Python users interested in building dashboards without extensive web development knowledge. Registration is through O'Reilly; a 30-day free trial is available for new members. The workshop will be recorded, allowing access even if the live session cannot be attended.
