A draft email in the files also referenced Epstein asking Gates about eliminating the poor. Media and lawmakers have since intensified pressure on Gates for testimony. Gates testified before Congress, stating he never witnessed Epstein's criminal conduct and called the association a grave error. The review concludes while finding no direct criminal knowledge, it does not resolve lingering questions about Epstein's network.
