Bottle Alley is a uniquely designed seaside promenade in Hastings, England, built to offer shelter from the elements. Constructed in the early 1930s, the "alley" was the creation of borough engineer Sidney Little, also called the "Concrete King." Its defining characteristic is the mosaic of broken glass that covers the walls. This mosaic is made of millions of multicolored bottle pieces, spanning the entire length and height of the structure. The walkway itself is remarkably straight, offering an unusual visual experience. At 480 meters, it stretches a long distance. Adding to the spectacle, there is a lighting system installed along the ceiling. This lighting system presents an impressive show which runs every evening. The dynamic light displays create a wave effect. The light show is timed and reminiscent of iconic sci-fi visuals.
