California law enforcement agencies conducted a nine-day crackdown on organized retail crime. This effort, part of the National Organized Retail Crime Blitz, involved the California Highway Patrol and over 100 other agencies. The operation targeted theft activity at various retail locations statewide. Authorities arrested 97 individuals and recovered over 8,500 stolen items. The recovered merchandise was estimated to be worth approximately $1.05 million. Among those arrested, eight faced felony charges. The crackdown included significant recovery of stolen sneakers in San Diego. Other operations in Roseville, Lodi, and Stockton also resulted in arrests. CHP Commissioner Sean Duryee emphasized the negative impact of retail theft and vowed continued enforcement. Since 2019, the CHP's Organized Retail Crime Task Force has been involved in thousands of investigations and arrests, recovering millions in stolen goods.
