Carrier Link simplifies cloud phone system setup for Workspace customers by integrating local carrier phone numbers and calling plans. It utilizes a pre-configured SIP Link implementation, making it easy to make and receive calls with minimal configuration. This solution is particularly beneficial for small businesses seeking a reliable phone connection without complex hardware setup. The feature is launching in 20 countries with partners Tata Communications and Telefonica Global Solutions. Google Voice has collaborated with these partners to offer services through alternative carriers. Administrators can initiate the process by contacting a Carrier Link partner to provision licenses and phone numbers. These can then be assigned to users, desk phones, auto-attendants, and ring groups. End users require no action. The rollout will be gradual, taking up to 15 days for feature visibility across different release tracks. Carrier Link is available to Workspace customers subscribed to SIP Link Standard and Premier plans.
