Changes to Manage Google Meet ... Note

Changes to Manage Google Meet hardware and calendars privilege

Google is changing the "Manage Google Meet hardware and calendars" privilege to enhance security and clarity. Currently, this privilege allows administrators to manage Meet hardware and grants full read/write access to all organization calendars. Starting October 15, 2025, this broad calendar access will be removed. Administrators will still be able to manage Google Meet hardware and assign calendars to devices. This change aims to prevent administrators focused solely on Meet hardware from accessing sensitive calendar data. Admins who need continued broad calendar access must grant them the separate "Manage Calendars" privilege before the deadline. If no additional calendar access is needed, no action is required, and the privilege will simply be restricted. End users will not be impacted by this update. The new "Manage Calendars" privilege is available now, and the restriction will be applied automatically in October. This change is available to all Google Workspace customers with Meet hardware.
