CME Targets October 19 Start For Bitcoin Cash And Uniswap Futures

CME Group is set to launch Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures on October 19, offering institutional traders more regulated cryptocurrency markets. This expansion was first announced on September 22 and is subject to regulatory review. Both standard and micro contracts will be available for each asset, allowing for flexible position sizing. Bitcoin Cash contracts will be 250 BCH standard and 25 BCH micro, while Uniswap contracts will be 10,000 UNI standard and 1,000 UNI micro. These futures enable market participants to manage price exposure without needing to hold the underlying tokens. This is beneficial for trading firms and institutions using futures for portfolio management or hedging. The addition of Uniswap is notable due to its position in the decentralized finance sector. While a futures contract exists, it doesn't guarantee demand for a spot ETF or imply regulatory approval for such. CME states these additions meet customer demand for enhanced risk-management tools. The exchange's crypto offerings already extend beyond Bitcoin and Ether, and these new contracts continue that trend. Traders should await confirmation of regulatory clearance and the commencement of live trading.
