Comcast Keeps Losing Customers Despite Price Guarantee, Unlimited Data

Comcast experienced significant broadband subscriber losses in Q4 2025, shedding 181,000 customers. This figure exceeded analyst predictions and marked a worsening trend compared to previous quarters. The company's efforts to combat these losses through wireless bundling and other ventures like Peacock and theme parks have not been sufficient. The intense competition, particularly from fiber and fixed wireless providers, is directly cited as the primary reason for these subscriber declines. Comcast's residential broadband customer base fell to 28.72 million, with business broadband also dropping. Despite these losses, average revenue per user saw a slight increase of 1.1 percent. This growth is attributed to new pricing strategies, including lower everyday rates and the uptake of free wireless lines. However, the company anticipates this slow revenue growth to continue due to the absence of rate hikes and the continued impact of promotional offers. Comcast acknowledges the market remains highly competitive, with fiber and fixed wireless posing ongoing challenges. The firm is facing a more aggressive competitive landscape than previously experienced.
