Google Vids now allows users to transform static images into eight-second videos with sound using a text prompt. This new capability leverages Veo 3 technology to create dynamic content effortlessly. You can animate product photography, logos, or any image by providing specific instructions. For instance, a coffee bag image can be animated with a woman entering the frame holding a coffee cup. Similarly, an image of workers can be animated with a panning shot. Admins will find this feature enabled by default for users who can access Google Vids. End users can access this functionality through the right sidebar in Google Vids by selecting Generate and then Upload image. The rollout begins on August 27, 2025, for Rapid Release domains and September 16, 2025, for Scheduled Release domains. This feature is not yet available in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom. It is available for various Google Workspace editions, Nonprofits, Gemini add-ons, and Google AI Pro/Ultra users.
