Gemini in Google Classroom has been enhanced to simplify rubric creation for educators. The tool now allows users to convert rubric files and images directly into Google Classroom rubrics during assignment setup. Educators can upload various file types, including .jpeg and .png images, making it simple to digitize existing physical or digital rubrics. Gemini processes these uploads to generate structured, interactive rubrics within the Classroom interface. Users have the ability to make edits to the automatically generated rubrics before saving them. This new functionality significantly reduces manual data entry for educators. It also aids in maintaining consistent grading standards across assignments. Rubric conversion is managed through the Gemini in Classroom setting in the Admin console. If Gemini in Classroom is disabled, this rubric conversion feature will not be accessible. This feature is currently available in English only and is restricted to users aged 18 and older.
