Google Meet now allows users to create custom background images using Gemini on Android and iOS devices. This feature enhances meetings by obscuring surroundings or adding visual flair. Users can access this functionality whether joining from the web or mobile. Administrators can control background customization options for their users. End users, with administrator enablement, can learn to create these backgrounds by visiting the Help Center. The feature is available now for Rapid Release domains. For Scheduled Release domains, a gradual rollout will occur over 14 days, beginning October 8, 2025. This new capability is included with Google Workspace Business Standard and Plus, and Enterprise Standard and Plus editions. It is also available with the AI Pro for Education add-on and previous Gemini and AI Meetings add-ons.
