Google Vids now offers expanded video editing capabilities. Users can create and edit videos in vertical (9:16) and square (1:1) formats. This builds upon the existing widescreen (16:9) option. These new sizes provide greater flexibility for content creation. They are ideal for platforms like YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok. Soon, Google Vids will also include vertical and square templates. There are no specific admin or end-user controls required for this feature. Users can access the video size options from the menu bar or File menu. The rollout begins October 9, 2025, for Rapid Release domains. Scheduled Release domains will see the full rollout starting October 21, 2025.
