Custom event colors in Google Calendar

Google Calendar is significantly enhancing its event coloring capabilities. Previously limited to 11 predefined colors, users will now have access to a much wider palette. This expansion includes 24 default colors and the ability to create up to 200 custom colors per event. Personalization is available through both the web and mobile applications, as well as the Calendar API. This update addresses a popular feature request from users seeking greater visual organization. The enhanced color options will be turned on by default for end users. Admins do not have control over this specific feature. Rollouts will begin in June 2026 for both Rapid and Scheduled Release domains. This feature will be available to all Google Workspace editions and personal Google accounts. Users can visit the Help Center for more information on utilizing these new color options.
