Defense Logistics Agency selects Google Public Sector to modernize global supply chain operations – the agency’s first AI-ready commercial cloud partnership

The U.S. national defense relies on a secure and intelligent supply chain, managed by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Google Public Sector has secured a $48 million contract to support the DLA's mission by providing a modern, AI-ready cloud foundation. This agreement will enhance DLA's operational capabilities and offer cost savings. This move transitions the Department of Defense away from legacy government clouds to a commercial cloud provider accredited by the DoD. Previously, DLA was restricted to less reliable "GovCloud" environments, hindering data visualization and interoperability. A modern, scalable, and secure platform was needed for future mission success. The DLA Enterprise Platform, built on Google Cloud, will migrate DLA's infrastructure and data, enabling advanced analytics and AI capabilities. This platform will transform logistics data into actionable intelligence using tools like BigQuery and Vertex AI. Google's secure-by-design infrastructure will protect against cyber threats. This partnership allows DLA to optimize logistics, improve decision-making with AI, enhance collaboration, and strengthen security.
