Disney+ To Add Vertical Videos In Push To Boost Daily Engagement

Disney+ aims to boost user engagement by introducing vertical video content later this year. The announcement was made at Disney's Tech + Data Showcase at CES in Las Vegas. This move aligns with the company's strategy to better compete with its streaming rivals. Disney+ also revealed new advertising tools, including a "brand impact" metric for advertisers. A new video generation tool will enable advertisers to create commercials using existing assets. Erin Teague, EVP of Product Management, mentioned various content possibilities for vertical video. These potentials are original short-form programs, repurposed social clips, or edited scenes from longer content. The primary goal is to integrate vertical video seamlessly into the user experience. Disney+ intends to avoid a disjointed or random feel with the new feature. They are considering diverse content types to engage users effectively. The objective is to make the platform more appealing and addictive.
