Django Weblog: Could you host DjangoCon Europe 2026? Call for organizers

DjangoCon Europe 2026 organizers are being sought for a community-led conference that brings together global Django enthusiasts. Hosting the event requires a team with enthusiasm, organizational skills, budget management abilities, and ample time for planning. Interested parties are invited to submit an expression of interest form. A support group of previous organizers is available to provide guidance and assistance. A detailed proposal, including organizing committee, legal entity, dates, venue, transport links, accommodation, and budget, is required by October 6th, 2024. The ideal proposal includes timelines, pictures, plans for inclusivity and environmental sustainability, and draft agreements with providers. Organizers are not expected to work alone and can delegate responsibilities to volunteers. The Django Software Foundation provides grant funding and support through working groups for promotion, code of conduct, and volunteer recruitment. For 2026, the event should take place between January 5th and April 27th, or June 4th and June 28th, avoiding conflicts with other Django events and holidays. The location is open to any city in Europe, regardless of whether it has hosted DjangoCon Europe in the past.
