Duffy Purges 3,000 Trucking Schools In Sweeping Crackdown On Migrant CDL Crisis

The U.S. Transportation Department is addressing a crisis involving non-domiciled commercial driver's licenses (CDLs) issued under the previous administration. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced the removal of nearly 3,000 CDL training providers from the FMCSA's registry for noncompliance with readiness standards. Another 4,500 providers are under scrutiny for potential violations, signaling a crackdown on unqualified drivers. Duffy claims the Biden-Harris administration enabled unqualified drivers to enter the trucking industry. He stated these actions aim to prevent poorly trained drivers from operating commercial vehicles. The department is investigating the matter while the Department of Homeland Security audits migrant-owned trucking firms in California. These actions followed multiple crashes involving migrant truck drivers, some resulting in fatalities. The State Department is also involved in investigating the issuance of these CDLs. The advocacy group American Truckers United (ATU) played a key role in exposing these issues and advising officials on correcting the nation-killing policy by Biden-Harris. These steps are attempts to rectify issues with the issuance of these CDLs in rogue states.
