Google Vids now allows users to control voiceover and avatar speech by typing bracketed commands. When an opening bracket is typed, Vids presents a menu of steering tags for customization. These tags enable precise guidance of vocal delivery, pacing, and emotional tone. Users can also opt for an "Apply audio tags" option to automatically insert tags. This feature helps tailor avatar or voiceover responses to script elements. There are no specific admin controls for this new functionality. End users can find detailed instructions in the Help Center. The feature began its full rollout on July 15, 2026, across most Google Workspace editions.
