Educators can now create new classes in Google Classroom using SIS data and import grading periods from the SIS

In 2023, Classroom introduced gradebook export to SIS, simplifying data management. Now, teachers can import SIS data to create new classes. This feature is available for districts using partner SIS providers. Admins connect SIS to Classroom, allowing teachers to link classes and import data manually. Teachers can import grading periods, rosters, co-teachers, grading categories, and now create new classes using SIS data. To enable the feature, admins visit classroom.google.com/admin. Teachers can import grading periods and "full class" information using the provided steps. Resources and support are available in the Help Center. The rollout begins August 1, 2024, for Rapid and Scheduled Release domains. The feature is available for Google Workspace Education Plus and Teaching & Learning Upgrade users.
