🗺️ Empowering Rural Analytics: Announcing India Village Finder

Village Finder is an open-source interactive mapping application designed to provide accurate, localized information for rural India. It organizes and visualizes geographical data for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu using official administrative hierarchies. The application offers instant fuzzy search capabilities, allowing users to locate over 78,000 villages by name, region, or PIN code. Users can access live APMC market prices, showing real-time commodity quotes aggregated at the district level. It also provides agricultural and soil insights, including 7-day weather forecasts, groundwater prospects, and WRB soil classification profiles. Village Finder enables civic infrastructure mapping, allowing on-demand lookups for nearby critical services like hospitals and police stations using OpenStreetMap. Additionally, it offers cadastral and land record linkage, displaying high-resolution survey plot layers and copying unique boundaries for official state portals. The platform aims to transform local governance, agricultural planning, and business operations through accessible open data. Its application logic is under the MIT License, and data assets are under the Government Open Data License (GODL-India). Users can explore the live map, download raw data, or contribute to expanding coverage to other states.
