Enhanced data protection for managed third-party apps

Google Workspace is enhancing data transfer capabilities for managed applications. Previously restricted, data can now move securely between corporate Workspace accounts and authorized third-party apps. This enables more efficient workflows by allowing users to share information seamlessly. However, strict security measures prevent data from being transferred to personal accounts within the same managed app. Additionally, transfers to unmanaged personal apps are also blocked. For instance, corporate email addresses can be moved to a managed CRM but not to a personal Gmail account. Administrators can enable this feature at the OU level and enforce restrictions via MDM. It is turned off by default and does not have an end-user setting. This update is available now for Enterprise, Education, and specific other editions. The goal is to foster a trusted ecosystem while protecting corporate data from accidental leaks.
