Epstein survivors may release unofficial client list if Justice Department stalls
Epstein survivor Lisa Phillips stated that victims are considering releasing their own list of individuals involved in their abuse if the Justice Department does not release more documents. This potential action comes after the Trump administration's claim that no official Epstein client list exists. Phillips indicated that survivors are compiling this list themselves, knowing the names of their abusers. She made these remarks at a Capitol Hill press conference where survivors advocated for sex trafficking victim protection bills. The press conference occurred the day after the House Oversight Committee released over 33,000 Epstein-related documents. However, a top Democrat noted that most of these files were already public. Meanwhile, Representative Thomas Massie is gathering signatures for a discharge petition to force a vote on releasing all Epstein files. Massie criticized Speaker Mike Johnson for introducing a competing resolution that he deems ineffective, designed to block his petition. Johnson's resolution directs the Oversight Committee to continue its investigation, which Massie described as a "meaningless" vote. Massie believes Johnson offered a "fig leaf" to colleagues with this non-binding resolution. It remains uncertain if Massie's petition will secure the necessary signatures for a House vote.
