Erratum for the Research Article “Nasal tau immunotherapy clears intracellular tau pathology and improves cognitive functions in aged tauopathy mice” by S. Gaikwad et al. | Science Translational Medicine
A correction was made to the Research Article "Nasal tau immunotherapy clears intracellular tau pathology and improves cognitive functions in aged tauopathy mice" by S. Gaikwad et al. due to an error in Fig. 3E where the synaptophysin bands were duplicated for NeuN bands. The correct NeuN bands have been incorporated in Fig. 3E along with their quantification in Fig. 3H. The error was in the Results section of the article. The original text stated that TTCM2-ms-treated hTau mice showed increased protein levels of neuronal markers, including PSD95, synaptophysin, and NeuN in the hippocampus. However, the corrected text states that TTCM2-ms-treated hTau mice showed a nonsignificant increase in PSD95 and a significant increase in synaptophysin, but no increase in NeuN protein. Immunofluorescence microscopy still showed an increase in the number of NeuN-positive cells in the hippocampi of TTCM2-ms-treated hTau mice. The online PDF and HTML versions of the article have been updated with the corrections. The corrections do not affect the overall conclusions of the paper. The corrected text provides a more accurate representation of the results. The error was limited to Fig. 3E and the corresponding text in the Results section.
