ESMA announces further guidance on exclusion criteria for the selection of Consolidated Tape Providers

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) is providing details for documents required for applicants in the selection process for Consolidated Tapes Providers (CTPs). During the first stage, exclusion criteria will be assessed, and applicants must provide a declaration of honour and valid evidence. ESMA will publish an overview of relevant certificates issued in each EU Member State for evidence. The selection procedure for bonds will start on January 3, 2025, and for shares and ETFs in June 2025. ESMA is ready to answer general questions on exclusion criteria via their website. The dedicated contact form can be used for inquiries that do not involve specifics of the forthcoming selection procedures. ESMA's guidance and eCertis webpage offer further information. The publication includes an indicative overview of relevant certificates for evidence. ESMA will launch the selection procedure for CTPs for bonds and shares/ETFs in January and June 2025, respectively.
