On June 17, 2025, ESMA's Board of Supervisors elected Ante Žigman as a new member of its Management Board. Žigman, from Croatia's HANFA, will replace Eduard Müller from Austria's FMA, whose term ends on July 5, 2025. Žigman will assume his new position on July 6, 2025. The Management Board, led by Verena Ross, oversees ESMA's mission and tasks. The board consists of representatives from various EU member states' financial authorities. Natasha Cazenave (ESMA Executive Director) and a European Commission representative are non-voting members. Vojtěch Belling, ESMA Vice-Chair, serves as an observer. During the same meeting, Carlos San Basilio Pardo and Annemie Rombouts were elected as Chairs of the Investment Management and Issuers Standing Committees, respectively. Standing Committees consist of experts from ESMA and national authorities. They are responsible for policy development in their specific areas.
