ESMA launches selection of Consolidated Tape Provider for shares and ETFs
ESMA is initiating the first selection process for a Consolidated Tape Provider (CTP) for EU shares and ETFs. Interested entities must register and submit their participation requests by July 25, 2025. The CTP will consolidate pre- and post-trade data from trading venues to improve market transparency. This consolidated data stream will provide market participants with timely information for better decision-making. The selection criteria are based on Regulated Technical Standards adopted by the European Commission on June 12, 2025. Applicants can find contract notices and procurement documents on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal. ESMA will evaluate requests based on exclusion and selection criteria, inviting successful candidates to apply. ESMA aims to select an applicant by the end of 2025. The selected CTP will operate for five years and must apply for ESMA authorization and supervision. Additional information is available on ESMA's dedicated webpage.
