ESMA released its third report on marketing requirements for cross-border fund distribution. This report, a product of the EU's financial markets regulator, includes statistics on fund marketing notifications. The report is based on information from National Competent Authorities. It notes that national rules on fund marketing haven't significantly changed since 2023. ESMA's analysis provides data on the volume of cross-border fund notifications. Luxembourg and Ireland are the primary notifying jurisdictions according to ESMA’s database. UCITS funds represent 56% of total notifications, while AIFs account for 44%. This report uses ESMA's database to retrieve all the information. The report is now going to the European Parliament, the Council, and the European Commission. The report's release was announced on January 6, 2026. This report aims to inform stakeholders about the current state of cross-border fund marketing.
