'Everyone is Stealing TV'

Consumers are increasingly turning to unofficial streaming devices to avoid costly cable subscriptions. These devices, primarily SuperBox and vSeeBox, offer access to numerous channels and on-demand content for a one-time fee. Manufactured in China, these boxes are sold through various informal channels across the US. The hardware itself is legal, but the devices direct users to pirated streaming apps, providing illegal content. These apps offer thousands of channels, including premium sports and local affiliates, violating copyright laws. Dish Network has actively sued resellers, resulting in significant damages for selling these devices. Despite legal action, adoption of these devices hasn't notably decreased, showing continued demand. The market for these devices has evolved from earlier iterations, like TVPad, which served Asian expat communities. SuperBox and vSeeBox have expanded to a broader American audience, increasing the problem.
