The federal government is increasingly recognizing foreign influence campaigns targeting the U.S. from within.The State Department recently detained three Cuban nationals, including Carlos Antonio Lloga Dominguez, accused of working for the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), described as Cuba's primary U.S. influence and intelligence front. Declassified CIA documents reveal ICAP has historically served as a cover for Cuban intelligence operations cultivating long-term assets. Today, a complex ecosystem exists with ICAP at its center, coordinating with groups like the National Network on Cuba.The Neville Roy Singham Network provides funding and infrastructure to these organizations, collaborating with legacy groups like CODEPINK and the ANSWER Coalition. The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) acts as a political channel, translating activism into electoral and legislative influence. Senator Rubio sanctioned ICAP, identifying it as a key node in a Cuban intelligence network.ICAP's current president has a conviction for his role in a Cuban spy ring. Lloga Dominguez was reportedly involved in bringing far-left streamer Hasan Piker and parts of the Singham Network to Cuba. Piker, associated with the DSA, has made violent anti-capitalist statements, and some Democrats have campaigned alongside him. Separately, the U.S. is investigating Chinese billionaire Neville Roy Singham and his NGO networks for allegedly promoting far-left, anti-American movements. Investigations are underway into potential financial crimes by Singham and his organizations. The emerging framework suggests that radical left movements may be influenced by foreign networks aiming for the destruction of the U.S. This presents Republicans with a clear message against communism, which resonates broadly across partisan lines.
