Find your routine next steps on the post-meeting screen in Google Meet
Google is launching "next steps" in Google Meet, powered by Gemini and Workspace Studio, to automate post-meeting tasks. This new capability transforms meeting discussions into actionable items within Google Workspace. Users can now draft follow-up emails in Gmail or export action items to Google Tasks directly after a meeting. This feature addresses the challenge of manual data entry and context fragmentation that often occurs after work-related calls. To enable "next steps," users must first have "Take notes for me" activated during the meeting. Once enabled, a "Routines for this meeting" section will appear on the post-meeting screen. Initially, two routines are available: drafting a follow-up email and adding action items to Google Tasks. Future updates will introduce additional routine options. Admins can manage this feature's availability, with it being on by default. End users can control their specific routine next steps via the Meet post-call screen or Workspace Studio. Availability extends to Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, and Education Add-ons with Google AI Pro for Education. The feature began its rollout on October 5, 2026, for both Rapid and Scheduled Release domains.
