Google Chat is introducing meeting recaps to streamline the transition from planning to action. These recaps provide a convenient summary directly within Google Chat conversations. Each recap includes a high-level meeting summary, highlighting key discussion topics and takeaways. Participants get direct artifact links for one-click access to Gemini meeting notes, recordings, and transcripts. The recaps also clearly outline key decisions and assigned action items with their owners. These summaries automatically appear in the chat space associated with a Google Meet call when "Take notes for me" is enabled. This feature helps attendees review next steps and allows those who missed the meeting to catch up easily. Recap cards are delivered silently to minimize distractions and can be deleted by any participant without affecting the original notes. Administrators will find this feature enabled by default for organizations with Gemini for Google Workspace. The feature will officially roll out to domains starting in late October 2026.
