Framework has announced three new computers at its "Second Gen" event, including an updated Framework Laptop 13 with AMD Ryzen AI 300, a 4.5-liter Mini-ITX desktop powered by Ryzen AI Max, and a colorful, convertible Framework Laptop 12 designed for students. The Framework Desktop is a 4.5L Mini-ITX machine using AMD's Ryzen AI Max "Strix Halo" chips with Radeon 8060S graphics, allowing for 1440p gaming and workstation-class projects. The base model starts at $1,099, while the top-end machine begins at $1,999, with pre-orders open now and shipping expected in Q3. The Framework Laptop 12 is designed to be smaller, cheaper, and more colorful, with a metal frame and ABS plastic molded in thermoplastic polyurethane, making it easy to repair. The laptop will come with 13th Gen Intel Core i3 and i5 processors, up to 48GB of RAM, and Wi-Fi 6E, with pre-orders opening in April ahead of the mid-year launch. The Framework Laptop 13 has been refreshed with AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series, featuring a new thermal system, a "next-generation" keyboard, and new colorways for the Expansion Cards and bezels. The new Framework Laptop 13 starts at $899 for a DIY Edition without storage or an OS, and $1,099 for a pre-built model. The mainboard is available for $449, with Framework keeping the Ryzen 7040 systems around starting at $749. The Framework Laptop 12 is considered a "defining product" by the company, with more information on pricing and specs to be shared later in the year. Framework is emphasizing the ease of repair and customization of its products, with the company calling the Framework Desktop "the easiest PC you'll ever build".
