Fraud Found Among 2,500 Voter Registration Forms Submitted En Masse In PA County

Police in Pennsylvania are investigating 2,500 voter registration forms submitted in two massive batches, with 60% of the forms checked so far found to be fraudulent. The forms were submitted in Lancaster County, but two other counties are also scrutinizing similar batches. Investigators believe the fraudulent forms are connected to a large-scale canvassing operation that began in June. The operation employed and paid people to obtain voter registration applications, often at shopping centers, parking lots, and other public areas. Many of the applications had inaccurate addresses, false personal identification information, and false names. In some cases, forms had accurate data, but the supposed applicants told detectives they had not requested or completed the forms, and the signatures were not theirs. Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams said the fraudulent registrations included both Democrats and Republicans, but the party affiliation wouldn't matter in the general election. The investigation is ongoing, with all available detectives assigned to the case, and two other Pennsylvania counties are investigating similar suspicious batches. The fraudulent activity could be punishable by up to seven years in prison and a $15,000 fine, as well as a 10-year loss of voting privileges. Pennsylvania is a crucial battleground state, with 19 electoral votes, and the investigation comes just days before the November 5 Election Day.
