The telecommunications industry is entering a new agentic era, moving beyond siloed automation to fully automated workflows. Nokia and Google Cloud are collaborating to integrate Nokia's Network as Code (NaC) platform with Google Cloud's AI stack. This integration provides AI agents for automating network observation, programming, and optimization using natural language. The evolution involves the autonomous network, networks optimized for AI, and AI agents programming the network. Nokia's NaC now integrates with Gemini models and Google Cloud's agentic framework. This collaboration uses three layers: an exposure layer for standardized APIs, an intelligence layer using Gemini to translate calls to intents, and an interaction layer for agent-to-agent communication. An Agent Development Kit (ADK) allows for the creation of custom multi-agent systems integrating business logic with network intelligence. This transforms the network from a programmable foundation to an intent-driven enterprise. Examples include autonomous logistics, enhanced security, and high-precision monitoring. This partnership allows telcos to transform the network into an innovation engine and monetize their 5G investments. The intuitive interface will let developers build innovative services that use the network's intelligence faster.
