Gabbard, Bondi and Noem to join election officials' meeting amid Georgia probe

Three Trump Cabinet members are scheduled to attend the National Association of Secretaries of State winter gathering, prompting a revision of the event's agenda. Attorney General Pam Bondi, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard will participate. Their attendance is notable because secretaries of state are crucial in overseeing and managing elections. This comes as the Trump administration seeks additional voter data from states and attempts to find evidence supporting unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud. The exact topics of discussion for the visiting officials are not yet clear, though a new session has been added to accommodate them. Some Democratic secretaries of state expressed surprise at these late additions. Director Gabbard's recent presence at an FBI search related to election investigations in Georgia has raised concerns among some Democrats. Secretary Bondi has also recently requested Minnesota's voter registration records, and the DOJ is pursuing legal action against states for withholding private voter data. A spokesperson for the NASS confirmed that the administration had inquired about attendance earlier in the week. The White House has since confirmed their participation in the conference.
