Gemini app data now included in Access Transparency, Access Management, and Access Approvals
Access Transparency, Access Management, and Access Approvals now encompass Gemini App data. These enhanced features offer administrators comprehensive visibility into when Gemini App data is accessed for support. They also grant control over which Google support personnel can view this data. Furthermore, these tools empower administrators to dictate the timing of Google's access for support purposes. This expansion aligns with Google's existing commitments to customer data ownership, security, and privacy. Access Transparency logs Google staff access in real time. Access Management permits admins to restrict access to specific Google staff, like those in the US or EU. Access Approvals require Google to seek explicit administrator consent before accessing data for support. These controls now extend to Gemini App data alongside other Workspace services. Administrators can explore these features via their respective admin consoles. End users will not experience any direct impact from this update. The feature is currently available, with specific licensing requirements for each control.
