Google is rolling out Gemini in Chrome to all Google Workspace users with Gemini app access. This AI assistant in Chrome enhances browsing on Mac and Windows devices, offering answers, insights, and two-way conversations. Admins can control access to Gemini in Chrome using "Allowed" or "Not allowed" settings. These settings are configurable through both Chrome Gemini Settings and the Gemini app service setting. Gemini in Chrome is a part of the Gemini app, and it's subject to usual Google Workspace terms. HIPAA compliance will be blocked for customers with the Business Associate Amendment. Initially, Gemini in Chrome will be available in English, in the US, and ages 18+. Usage is tracked and reported in the Admin Console under Generative AI. The Gemini app service allows access to the Gemini app across all platforms. The rollout pace begins no sooner than October 2, 2025 for Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains. Gemini in Chrome is available for several Google Workspace editions with particular add-ons.
