Gemini in the side panel of Google Drive introduces a new PDF viewing experience

Gemini, an AI-powered assistant, can now interact with users while viewing PDFs in Google Drive. This feature is available for all types of PDFs, including scanned, native, text-heavy, and table-heavy documents. Gemini enables users to summarize long PDFs, ask specific questions, create new content, and combine PDFs with other Drive files. Admins can enable smart features and personalization for users to access Gemini in Workspace apps. End users can access Gemini by double-clicking on a PDF in Drive, clicking the Gemini icon in the top bar, and following the welcome dialogue. The rollout is gradual for Rapid Release domains and full for Scheduled Release domains. This feature is available for Google Workspace customers with Gemini add-ons or Google One AI Premium.
