Germany Already Met Its 2028 Goal for Reducing Coal-Fired Power

Germany has already surpassed its 2028 target for reducing coal-fired power generation by approximately 10%. This achievement means the country will not need to mandate the closure of any additional coal plants for a second consecutive year. The significant growth in renewable energy sources, which now supply almost two-thirds of Germany's electricity, has contributed to this success. Despite these advancements, Germany remains heavily reliant on coal and is the EU's largest polluter.
