Google Cloud expands model choice and flexibility, bringing OpenAI models to customers
Google Cloud is enhancing its AI offerings by integrating OpenAI models into its Model Garden. This move makes Google Cloud the sole hyperscale provider with access to all three major closed-source LLMs, alongside numerous other models. The platform emphasizes providing customers with flexibility to choose the right model for specific workloads, balancing cost, capability, and performance. New OpenAI models like GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol, and GPT-6 Luna are being introduced, each tailored for different use cases and efficiency levels. This integration allows customers to dynamically swap models without architectural lock-in or separate vendor contracts. User activity will be consolidated into a single Google Cloud invoice, utilizing existing cloud commitments and Flexible Savings Plans. Security and data governance are paramount, with strict data perimeters ensuring customer data is never used for model training. Isolated access boundaries and unified auditing provide robust security and visibility for enterprise workloads. These new OpenAI models are currently in private preview for select enterprise customers. Future integration with Gemini for business and Google Antigravity will further expand choice and efficiency for developers and enterprises.
