Google Pics is now generally available, integrating advanced AI image generation and precise editing into Workspace. Users can create images from text prompts or import existing ones for AI-powered refinement. The tool offers features like multiple image variations, object-based editing, text element manipulation, cropping, and upscaling to 4K. Pics maintains version history, allowing users to revert changes easily. Images can be edited directly within Google Docs and Slides with a single click, eliminating the need to switch applications. Collaboration is supported through inviting teammates and sharing images via links. Pics images can also be created and opened in Google Drive. Admins can manage Pics availability at the domain, OU, or group level. The rollout begins September 1, 2026, for Rapid Release domains and September 15, 2026, for Scheduled Release domains. Pics is available for various business, enterprise, consumer, and education plans, with higher generative AI access until February 28, 2027.
