Google Vault now supports eDiscovery filtered exports for Gemini in Workspace. This enhancement allows administrators to filter and export users' Gemini conversations across integrated Workspace apps. Administrators can define export scopes by custodian and a specific date range, accommodating up to 5,000 users. Exports are available in JSON format, with metadata tags aligned with the Gemini app's conversation format. The exports include crucial context such as user prompts, AI responses, and generated attachments. Links to referenced Workspace files and citations are also part of the exported conversation history. This feature helps customers meet legal and regulatory obligations by governing and exporting their Google Workspace data. Future releases will bring additional governance features like retention rules and litigation holds for Gemini in Workspace. Admins can initiate exports directly from the Vault UI by selecting "Gemini in Workspace" and applying filter criteria. API support for this functionality will be available within 14 days of the UI rollout.
