Google Vids is enhancing its AI voiceovers with the Gemini 3.8 Flash Lite TTS model for more natural speech. The Gemini app and Workspace are rolling out "skills," which will eventually replace Gems for task-specific instructions. Users can now customize caption styles in Google Vids, including font, placement, and animation. Developers gain programmatic comment and suggestion support for Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides via their APIs. A simpler setup option is now available for Google Workspace Client-side encryption. The Gemini student hub, previously for personal accounts, is now accessible to all Google Workspace for Education users. Interoperability between Google Meet and Microsoft Teams on Android devices is now generally available after a preview period. These updates aim to improve user experience, developer capabilities, and accessibility across Google Workspace products.
